Have Your Say...
Last week we had a feedback time at the end of the talk. We only had time for 3 people to share, but afterwards a number of people came up and said they wanted to say something.
So, thanks to modern technology, this is your opportunity to encourage everyone with your experiences or thoughts…
The questions I asked were:
If you have something to say (anything, please! It would prove to me that someone reads this blog!) then click on the “Comments” or “Post a comment” link below. Please remember to put your name (choose “other”). You’re comment will appear after I’ve approved it (a necessary step to stop all the junk ones – sorry)

The questions I asked were:
- Have you ever felt intimidated by other Christians?
- Have you felt like you’re not a proper Christian somehow?
- Has some expectation been put on you in the past that you now realise has nothing to do with following God?
- Have we experienced times when we made a rule for others to follow God, only to realise God didn’t care about it?
- Has there been a time when someone has gone out of their way to accept you? What did it feel like?
- Have you experienced accepting someone who normally is rejected? What happened? Was it easy or difficult?

I thought the talk was led with so much passion, what you said was so true so many people in this world feel 'less than adequate' because of their cirumstances, and through the ages that has been the problem with the church, judging people from the outside, but Jesus would have done the complete opposite to that he would have opened up his arms to everyone not just the ones that fitted the ideal, We have to mirror what Jesus did all those years ago and open up our arms to the people who dont fit into societies net of 'normal' and make them feel welcome and to try and see them the way God saw us before we knew him, see them the way God sees them in their robes of white not dammaged by the world, when we are prepared to do that we are truely doing the will of God, and mirroring his love to the people that he loves. I'm glad to be part of a church and led by pastors who want to go where God is leading them to want, 'to get our hands dirty' to go where Jesus went , to have boldness about what we do because we have God by our side.
Hay Dave, just to prove I'm reading your blog I am going to answer these questions, even though I was helping with the children last week I can honistly say if I did happen to have an answer to this I probbally wouldnt have come up at the front and told you all because I would be to scared! whitch is silly as I spoke out at the front after coming back from Albania! and about 3 weeks ago I sang with Katie Ranft at Maranather! that was a bit scary! and last week I did a 4 day first aider couse and past two exams in it! now that was verry scary!
Q* Have you ever felt intimidated by other Christians?
A* yes sometimes because its just my own silly thoughts like oh they dont like me, why are they looking at me e.t.c however eventho people are Christians they are still human even me to a sertane extent, I can be or have been intimidating!
Q* Have you felt like you’re not a proper Christian somehow?
A*Yes sometimes as I think to myself I'm not very good at being one, only today I was thinking maybe I'm not supposed to be a Christian as when I was little from the age of 1 to the age of 16 I was very noughty and not perticually a nice person, I didnt always understand why I did the thing I did or behave the way I did! I was thinking maybe I'm suppost to be a fallen angle but I soon snapped out of that as I've tryed not being a christain and it didnt work I just wasnt happy atall and I worked out I couldnt live without beeing one!
Q* Has some expectation been put on you in the past that you now realise has nothing to do with following God?
A*well I suppose being a vicars daughter as everyone exspects me to be a christain and good but lots of my family arnt christians (yet) no I chose to be with God!
Q* Have we experienced times when we made a rule for others to follow God, only to realise God didn’t care about it?
A* cant think of one but there must be lots!
Q* Has there been a time when someone has gone out of their way to accept you? What did it feel like?
A*I dont have a clue, but if I knew I probbally would have felt humbled, and anoyed as I wouldnt want someone to make themselfs like me! however sometimes I wonder with the people who say they like me if they do go out of their way! as I must be very anoying sometimes!
Q* Have you experienced accepting someone who normally is rejected? What happened? Was it easy or difficult?
A*It can be very difficult sometimes especially when they rub you up the rong way and because you feel compassionate and sorry that they are being rejected and sometimes I dont know quite what to say! and Im not sure if because they've be rejected they might be so used to it that they reject me when I try to accep them also its so easy to just reject people who are rejected I guess it could be to do with comfort zones aswell! but I have found that even tho I dont see those people that are in my passed I find myself loveing them with a passion and remebering the good time more than the bad!
by the way since you're checking this.... could you do a spell check as I cant spell! sorry Dave!
Question :- "have I accepted someone who is normally rejected/ not normal? How did it feel?" - Yes I felt I wanted to get up and speak at the time but always held off......In my job I meet many different people and generally adapt to corporate clients/businesses who value advice - last year I met a client who was suffering from a muscle disorder and instantly took to her - she is chair bound for the rest of her life and needs constant care from her immediate family - I felt God has used me to sit and talk to her about anything and everything which I wouldn't normally do with clients - I could write here for hours about what we have discussed but the point is we have talked about many deep issues like genuine love with no barriers / forgiveness / jesus / the church - I will continue to pray for her to turn and acknowledge our lord jesus christ and accept that we have all made mistakes but only jesus can forgive them. Her name is sandra and would ask that you would pray for her as well - thanks for your time. Scott
